Baystreet 21 is finally opened!!

After long awaiting, the Restuarant Baystreet 21 @ IMM is finally open!!

When IMM underwent re-vamping a few months ago (last year), my family's favourite restuarant closed as well, for renovation. Finally, this month, it re-opened. On Friday night, my parents and brother went there for dinner, to celebrate my brother's birthday. I didn't manage to go, because I went out with my colleagues to watch Broadway Beng. My parents told me that the food was still the same, and the taste as well. I just felt that I had to try it for myself.

Today, da and I thought it would be nice to reminisce... alright, maybe I was the one who wanted to reminisce. I practically grewup eating at this restaurant! =)
Went around 6, and here is what we had...

For those of you who are interested to try... In the past, this restaurant was at side of the travellator from Giant. It has since moved to be beside FOS, where the Best Denki used to be on the second storey.
Here's the menu from the restaurant... still the same...everything on the menu was still the same as well. Good news.. first step - passed.
The new decor of the restaurant was nice as well. The old restaurant was more dim, and the atmosphere was also quite different from the new one. This new one was brighter...
Here's the new place.. more spacious as well, although the shop was smaller.

My favourite starter to the meal. The BREAD!! (I am sooo...a bread person...) The bread that they have here...I don't know if it's just me, or what... but I simply love the bread that they have.. With the soup, I feel like I could have 10 of them... hee hee.. Now we know why I am so fat.. Bleah =P

Da's set meal came with Tom Yum soup. Da simply adores Tom Yum. (But I don't...)
Da's food... Thai special set meal. Boneless stuffed chicken wing with pineapple rice and Thai salad.
Here's my main course. I had pork chop with chicken wing combo. Looks delicious?

Yummy!! Overall, I would give this 4 /5 . QUite good...

The only qualms about this restuarant is the service of some of the part time staff. When it was time for dessert and coffee with my combo meal, this part time girl came and asked us what we wanted. To my disappoinment, I realised that they didn't have fruit, and so I ordered a slice of cake and tea. Then, I overheard one of the waitresses ask the table next to us what they wanted, and I heard her list watermelon as one of the dessert. Therefore, when mine came, I asked the part timer of I could change mine to watermelon as well. She just replied curtly "no fruit". and walked away. Shit!

Of course, being me, I would never let something like this go. I got another waitress, and I flashed my sweetest smile, and asked her (although I knew the answer) "May I know hor, my set meal, can order fruit one or not ah?" She said "yes". Then I asked her, pointing to the part timer, "Then how come just now when I asked her, she said no fruit?" The aunty said "Oh, the fruit was not ready just now yet. You want? I change for you now lor." To which I said "Thanks".

Couldn't the part timer do the same? I would have settled for some polite reply... no prob..

Sheesh..Young people nowadays...
