Gold Coast, Australia 7D6N... My honeymoon...
Finally, after a long long long time, the blog is funally done... it took me just 3 days to upload the photos onto the blog!
On the plane to Australia... on the long and gruelling 8 hour flight... thank goodness for on-flight entertainment... =)
Sheep shearing performance.
Well, here's the hotel which we lived in while we ere in Australia. The Mantra Legends. Nice place... Very near to surfers' paradise. It's literally just outside our hotel...and we just walk all over the place every night...
We were given a room on the 16th storey..the view was quite spectacular...hee hee.
There was this one beach that we stopped by (but I don't remember on the way to where, neither do I remember the name of the beach. But one thing I do know, the beach was really really pretty. The sand was fine, and the breeze was wonderful... )
Shrek 4D adventure. Very fun. It's like those motion rides, except this one also includes one more dimension, the sense of touch and smell. It's interesting. WHen we went in, we were given the 3D glasses. The characters seem to be coming out right in front of you. FOr example, when DOnkey sneezed, we had water sprayed at us. The seats also moved in co-ordination with the movie. It was a very good experience... hee hee
Haha.. pictures taken with the characters. They are all over the place, letting people take photos with them. They are so cute! =) I guess this is the highlight of the place for many kids. Here's Tweety and Daffy... I tawt i taw a puddy tat...
Porky PIg and Marvin the Martian..why is the Martian wearing a skirt when it's a "he"?
supergirl! I like the new cap that I got...
Well, Da went for this Superman Escape ride. AFter that, the only thing he said was "how did I convince myself to go for this ride?" Haha... it's crazy...
Da with the characters of Police Academy.
On the third day, we visited Sea World. After the exciting visit to Movie World the previous day, this place sort of paled in comparison to Movie World.
Are these birds...pelicans... very pretty colours yah?
Day 4 - Free & Easy...
Yup.. it was supposed to be free & easy...and we decided to go on a trip to Tropical Fruit World, where they had many many species of fruits in the orchard.
On the way there, the bus driver stopped us at this place called Point Danger for photo taking and scenic sightseeing. It's called Point Danger because I think it was the location Captain Cook landed when he came to Australia.. or something like that. I don't really remember.. haha.. ANyway, it was really breath-taking. It was very, very windy, and very cold... =)
Then we proceeded on to the Tropical Fruit World. It was really quite huge, and the whole place was really quite interesting..
EEEEKS! Cacti!
Da did not dare to go near to the stone because he was afraid that some creature may come sashaying out and scare the living daylights out of him... =)
This was the fruit show we got to see. They have cut lots and lots of exotic fruits for us to try. ANd the guy will introduce each of them for us. It's really amazing. There is a fruit that tastes like custard, and there is even a fruit that tastes like chocolate pudding! We ate it with vanilla ice-cream. and amazingly, it also tasted like chocolate ice-cream! *Slurp*
There were also those that we were familiar with, like papaya, grapefruit...etc. (Oh. They call "papaya" "Paw Paw" there.. )

Dior Power...

We took this tractor all over the place.. hee hee. Reminds me of the tractor in "Cars the Movie" Haha..
Hey, have you seen macadamia nuts fresh? Here they are...freshly off the tree. Most of them have been picked up and cracked by visitors though.. it was really quite cool..and tastes very nice when fresh...
Here's a macadamia nut.

Us with the boat driver along the river.
Feeding a kangaroo! =)

After that, we stopped by a bee factory to see how honey is made by the bees, and of course to buy honey products.. we got royal jelly and Manuka Honey... which is famous in Australia, yet manufactured in New Zealand.. haaha..the irony!

After the walk of the day, it was free night, and so we had to settle our own dinner... and so we went to the one place we would go wherever we went in the world.. HARD ROCK CAFE! WooHOO!! =)
Photos while waiting for our food to be delivered... =)

Here's the Hurricane, with the complimentary glass...as a souvenir...

WHatever this means.. hee hee..
Ooh.. the first sip...
It's nice! =)
Here's our nachos.. The serving looks huge right? Yup.. it IS HUGE... In fact, that alone could have very well been our dinner... =)
But...Da da had to go and order the grill combo... chicken thigh and ribs..
Regretting his decisioin.. hahaha... you can only imagine how we stuffed ourselves.. hee hee
It's so interesting.. We should have this contraption in SIngapore too. It will indeed be convenient.. haha... We were just walking along, and then suddenly I saw this thing that said
"public Toilet". I wen ahead to look closer, and then what I saw was really interesting.. This toilet is not run by anyone..what happens is if a person needs the toilet, he would press a green button to open the sliding door. That's not what's interesting. What IS interesting is that the toilet is programmed to "auto wash" when unoccupied for a long period of time. Because of the fact that it is not run by any janitor, the toilet can AUTO CLEAN! Haha.. ALso, as part of a security feature, when occupied for 10 minutes, the toilet would ring an alarm, and then the door would open automatically... (in case someone fainted in there..) Ain't it cool? Haha...
Brrrr.... COLD!!
Well, this is a photo of our sillhouette in the sand.. an unsuccessful one, that is.. the sand if lit by some lights in the background, but silly me went to use flash to take the photo of our shadows.. and this was how it turned out. Haha. Haha. Hah. Do not tell anyone how silly I was...

I'll Kill you! =)
This is a successful photo of our sillhouette on the sand. The beach is entirely wrapped in darkness, except this little piece lit by the lights of Surfers' Paradise in the background.. =)
I have no idea what I am doing at all... haha..
Snuggling up against each other to fight the cold...

This is the landmark welcoming people into Surfers' Paradise. As you can see, this was Sunday the 2nd December.

By the way, you realise that the time is actualy 0749 p.m. Over there in Australia, it's daylight saving (I think) and then the sky turns dark very very early in the day... so by about 6.30, the sky is already dark...
And, we have said that we wanted to wake up early to catch the sunrise, because we get a very good view from our hotel room. However, we have never managed to do it before, because by the time we wake up at 0600, the sky is already brightly lit.. it's weird.. haha..

Ooo... Baskin Robbins... The first thing that caught my eye as the bus took us to the hotel. I was initially feeling sick and sleepy in the bus, but the moment I saw the flash of pink, I woke up. I had ice cream 4 times out the 5 nights that I was there... (Even the night when we had Hard Rock Cafe for dinner! )Haha.. Can someone please try to bring this into SIngapore again? I swear nothing beats this ice-cream. Not Haagen Daaz, not Andersens..NOTHING!! Muhahahah...
A Slurping Ape...heehee
This photo was taken at HarbourTown, a MEGA...and I mean MEGA shopping mall. It is made up of shops that are mainy the so called "factory outlets", and the stuff there are cheap-er than those we see outside. We were so upset that some of the things we saw there were so much more expensive when we bought it a few days ago.. but anyway..who on earth markets their stuff this way? Haha...I guess it worked, because it stuck with us... haha.. seriously ugly footwear... hee hee..
I was having my period when I was there at Harbour Town. Can you freaking believe it? When I was in MY hometown? And I don't know if it was because of the place, or what, but my stomach hurt like mad. It was B.A.D. I have never felt so bad in my whole life....but I was determined not to let it ruin my day.. and so, I went to the pharmacy and got medicine for myself.. After that, I really went back to my normal self.. it was Great... haha... and then, as we were leaving Harbourtown for the day (their shopping ends at 4p.m., remember?) We saw Santa Claus... decided that I wanted to take photo with him. In the end, Santa even gave me sweets.. heehee ..
