CNY Dinner... 3 February 2008

This year, CNY came earlier... On the 3rd Feb, we celebrated CNY by having a reunion dinner. This year, it's also special because instead of the usual steamboat that we have at the respective families (lunch at da's home, and dinner at my place), both families came to my new place for the dinner. This year, da also cooked the dinner. Way before the day, he was also super stressed up bout the dinner...as usual, he is such a prefectionist..

Kelvin came bright and early to help out.. by watching TV.. hee hee
Look how tidy my house was.. hee hee..
Da taking a break.
Da teaching Kelvin how to prepare the food.

Da teaching Kelvin how to arrange the ham, chicken and also the mushrooms in a good presentation method... =)

Well, what do you think? How many points would be given out of 10? I would give 10... =P
There's Vincent arranging the broccoli on the dish.. presentation again.. ha ha..
Well, my blur mummy told us that she would bring the yu sheng, but then when she came with the set of yu sheng from NTUC, we realised to our horror that it does not have vegetables (the carrot and other vegetables...so Kelvin and I had to rush down to Great World City (Which was almost like a dead twon by 6p.m.) and hopefully get yu sheng. In the end, we got the yu sheng from Crystal Jade.. Haha.. In the end, it tasted great.... =)
Here it is...

This is prawn rolls (made by me.. hee hee..) In it, the beancurd skin is wrapped around minced meat, prawns and water chestnuts.. after wrapping, it has to be steamed first, and refrigerated. And then, when t's to be used, the rolls have to be cut up and fried... =O
My favourite dish,.. 'Heng chye" and salted duck eggs and century eggs.. Yummy!
Roast pork.. of corse, this was bought.. not made... =()
*Slurp*... Broccoli and abalone.. i'm very sure it tasted better than at restaurants. Hee hee. And all these quality food at the comfort of our own home...
ROast duck and braised duck.

Hmm...Ginseng and dunno what herbs prawns.. the soup is very very nice.
dumplings. Bought as well lah..
Da cooked this yam rice since morning. It was really delicious. One of the best that I have had so far..
Steamed vegetables with the chicken, ham and mushroom that kelvin was seen arranging.
Mummy pouring the ingredients into the yu sheng platter.

Getting ready to "lou" yu sheng. FOr a good (better) year ahead, and also to prosper.
Tucking into the yu sheng.

There's us having the dinner. in the end, da had cooked so much that we did not manage to finish all the food. MIL (Mother-in-law) had to pack the food back.
