The start of Agony...CNY2008

Here's a short summary of what I did for CNY this year... Nothing spectacular, so nothing too much to talk about.. Also, this year marks the start of which I have to give red packets (BECAUSE SOME ONE INSISTED ON IT....People were surprised, pleasantly of couse, when they got he red packets. most of them asked "Eh, you first year don't have to give one what...why you giving?")

hee hee.. This was the first day of CNY... the first time in my life (apart from when I was a young kid and did not know much when my mother dressed me up like a big red packet) that I got a red dress for the New Year. Red from top to toe... even the freaking shoes were red! and nail polish as well...

Went to my grand ma's place for the annual "mee sua"... This simple dish was super simple..but then also super delicious.. I told da to go and learn from ah-ma...you see, cooking mee sua is simple, but cooking this particular style of mee sua such that it tastes as spectacular as ah-ma's does...that takes some mastering... *slurp*.. as the chinese say it... 物以稀为贵.. the very fact that we only get to eat it once a year makes it that much more special.... =) The other ingredients to go with the mee sua...

My third aunt and her family. We were there early, and therefore not many people were there yet.

Then in the evening of the first day, everyone came over to my mom's place for dinner... she was in a frenzy, because it was all unplanned...haha..but in the end it went well, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves..

On the 10th day of the CNY, we all went to my cousin's house for dinner..It was @ Bishan.. I tell you, this cousin of mine, she is "Hippo-Siao".. Literally everything around her house has Hippos on them... look at the shelf in her house? I forgot how many hippo items there were.. she told us...right down to the precise number..but I couldn't remember.... she is really crazy over hippos...

I mean...EVERYTHING... she is indeed "Hippo-tised"... haha..
