On the third day, we went out to several places, but I guess we were really quite excited because we went to the recording in the studio to watch the CHinese variety programme, Guess, Guess, Guess... =) More pictures below..
WHat you see here is this Shinkong Mitsukoshi Shopping centre. I told you that we would talk more about it here.. Basically, the shopping centre opens at 1100 everyday. At 1055, we could see crowds gathering outside the shopping centre. Curious, we decided that we should just stay and see as well what would happen. We also decided that we would have breakfast at the food alley in the basement.
At 1055, these two young ladies came out to announce something, which I totally could not catch, because I was in awe. It was a realy really long message, but these two girls spoke word for word TOGETHER. AT THE SAME SPEED! oh my god! Makes me wonder how long they took to train for that...

And then, at 1100 sharp, they would open the shop, and when you entered the shop, here's what you would be greeted by...
all 4 of us were really awe-struck, not to mention that we were nearly deaf from the girls' loud voices welcoming us into the shopping centre. That was not all. EVERY single staff in the shopping centre would do the same thing. They would really bow at you and welcome you. feels good.. =)
Then we proceeded to the basement. This was where I felt really quite paiseh. As we walked past each and every stall deciding on what o eat, the stall owners would come out and bow at you, welcoming you to the shopping centre. I felt really bad because we did not eat at the stalls, and also because some of the workers were quite old. It was one thing for them to bow to me if they were young, and another matter if they were the same age as your grandma. =O
ANyway, in the end, I decided that I would have "lu rou fan" - literally braised pork rice. I like...
Then the most horrible thing happened... I was happily eating the rice, and then after I was halfway through the rice, Cheryl suggested that we changed so that we could try one another's food.
Before passing the food to her, I had not touched the piece of beancurd on the bowl (you can see)..Then when she took it over, she lifted the beancurd, and just as she was about to eat it, she saw that there was a cockroach stuck to the bottom of it. I nearly gagged.
Took it to the auntie, and then all she did was ask me calmly "then what do you want me to do?" She was not rude or anything..just as though it happened all the time... So, we got a bowl of rice for free (ah duh!) And then by the time, I had already lost all appetite...
Next time, I would just stick to something simple like the soup that Cheryl had.. (*puke*)
Then we headed for Sun Yet Sen memorial... He was also one of the founding fathers lah..but I am not a history person, so if it is HIS - Story, why should I know about it? Haha... Went there to take some photos, and then was about to leave for Taipei101 when it started pouring REAL Hard...

And so, we went to seek refuge in a nice little cafe at the side of the road, run by this cute ang moh guy (whom we found out had an ang mo father and a chinese mother..) Really quite handsome..and then we had our coffees and of course, more food. We sat and chatted for about 2 hours till the rain subsided... =)The first time we actually relaxed since we arrived at Taipei.
We had cabonara as well.
Then we proceeded on to Taipei 101... currently the tallest buiilding in the world...
It was also in here that we (Cheryl and I) bought our new Gucci bags... Hee hee...We wanted to visit the viewing tower, but it was a little too late as we were rushing off for the recording. We decided that we would come back in the night instead...

On the way to 101, we had to cut through this hotel..and it was ever in da and Cheryl to make a fool of themselves...

We went to CTV, The China Television Network for the recording...

And here are some pics of what we saw...

If you know her, she is from the "Xin Guang Da Dao", Ye Wei Ting. I think she has really good voice. Hot dance moves too...

Dunno who she is... but she has damn nice legs to die for..

This is a game where Ye Wei Ting would sing part of a song, and the selected star would then complete the song... QUite funny

Forgot her name..

My idol, Shino Lin Xiao Pei. She was there to promote her new album.

And here's what happened when you did not get the words right.. haha.

ANother of my idol who sings really well, Landy Wen Lan

LIn You Jia, the winner of the first season of "XIn Guang Da Dao"

After that, we proceeded on to the night market nearest to the studio, Raohe night market. Really quite disappointing.. there was nothing much, so we decided to move on quickly to Taipei 101 so that we could go up the viewing tower, which closed at 10.

And here we are, back at 101.

Here's the interior of the lift to go up to the observatory, which was on the 89th and 91st storeys.
The lifts also had guiness records for the fastest lifts or something like that. It took 38 seconds to go up 89 storeys, but surprisingly, 47 seconds to come down.. I dunno why.. anyone care to explain to me? =>

Click on the video below to see how fast it was...

These cute little things you see all around the place are called damper babies. Dampers are actually these hige structures that they have within the interior of the building to maintain the stability of the building in case of an earthquake. They would work against the force to maintain the balance. Within 101, there are 3 HUGE dampers working together to ensure the stability... amazing how science works...

Here's the dampers.. HUGE structures...

The different views from the observatory.

Then we climbed up (from the 89th storey of course...dun be silly) to the 91st storey for the open observatory... We didn't take much though, because it was all fenced up and there really wasn't anything much that could be seen in there...
