Ok... Back to Taiwan...
In this entry are just some random photos that were taken on our 5th day in Taiwan. We went up to Keelung mountain in the day, where we visited the Jiufen market up on the mountain, and then we proceeded to Maokong, which was up another mountain in the night.
The chef was quite generous in letting us try all sorts of pastries before we decided which to buy. in the end we bought quite a lot of them...
This was another novelty over there. See that contraption? It's used to scrape the sugar and peanuts off the big block of nuts below it. The shaved bits would then be put on top of a popiah skin and rolled up. Sort of like the ones we have here, but this one I bet would taste much better...
Here's the Zhang Shifu cake shop box. Quite pretty yah?
Oooh..here's another shop which looks famous. They make this yam kueh thingee, which I absolutely LOVED! I tell you, there is no way to describe the Q-ness of the skin, and the flavour of the filling....hmmm....
Here's the kueh... I really can't wait to lay my hands on another one of those.. yummy!

On the way up to Maokong

Here's the cable car station to Maokong. Very cute ya?

Maokong was quite a disappointment. There was really nothing much there. Apparently many people would go up there for tea drinking sessions at night. Haha... After a while, we left because it was too dark to do anything...
After that, we proceeded to our favourite night market again! Shilin!! =) There's this interesting shop there selling chicken and little hotpot... the name is ku ku ji... haha...quite cute...
WHat you see here is actually a shop in Jiufen. This is a famous cake shop, where they manufacture lots of cakes and pastries...
On the way up to Maokong
There's this "kuso" thing going on.. I also don't really understand what it means, but basically I guess it's about trying to be "orbit".
Another orbit name..
Oh.. This is Keelung mountain. WE challenged ourselves to climb up the mountain.
The foot of the mountain.

There we are, qurter way up the mountain.
