Last night, da and I went to Amirah's Grill somewhere along Arab Street, to celebrate his friend's birthday. Da has known this friend for more than 10 years now, since his secondary school days.
His name is Basril, and has been a really nice guy and all, even to me... =)
This birthday party was painstakingly planned by his very sweet girlfriend, Mariam (or so i think that is how the name is spelt. Sorry if I got it wrong..=) (SHe even went to the extent of packing those small goodie bags for each of us. You know, the ones like those primary school children get when it's their classmates' birthday? Really bring back memories.. Even the stuff inside were old school stuff! Cool!)
Haha.. It was supposed to be a surprise for Basril, but then what happened in the end was really funny. One of the friends did not know that Bas was not supposed to know about it, and so she went to SMS Bas that she would be late for the dinner...
Haha.. You know what the joke was? No one knew that Bas knew.
We all went through the dinner and the fun with Bas "surprised", and we all only knew that he knew all along when this girl came late at night... haha. What a joke...

See the girl in the blue dress? That's his very sweet girlfriend...

Anyway, this was what da got for him.. two pieces of underwear, one that said "part time lover",

and the other that said "pornstar".. haha.. Hope it fits! =) (Oh. And Da also got him a really nice name card holder...)

Here's our appetizer with the chicken soup and garlic bread. I really liked the garlic bread.

Here's my food... It's some mixed kebab stuff..Starting from the top of the plate, you see baked potato... Next, the ones that look like cubes, are the beef skewers. Really quite tough, the meat.
Following that is the chicken skewer. Nice. I enjoyed this the most...
FInally, some minced lamb stuffie.. I really forgot what it's called. perhaps if any of you know what it's called... you can tell me.
I guess I would give the dish an overall 4 / 5. It's nice lah, the only thing is that the beef was a bit tough.
For those of you who are interested to try this, I would suggest you try the Beef Tenerloin mixed kebab instead. The beef was much nicer..
But I find that there was TOOOOO much meat. Everyone sort of agreed with me actually. Even Da.. haha..

And see how hairy the waiter's hands were? Hee hee.. (totally out of point.. haha. The waiter was actually quite cute, but I was pai seh to take his photo lah.. ha ha)

Other drinks.. The white one was banana milkshake, and the other ones were mint tea... All the drinks quite exquisite one, and not all to our liking, unfortunately.. Let's just say the drinks there are an aquired taste... haha..

Here's my drink.. The first drink, at least. This is the mango drink. Quite nice.. The meal costs $25, and comes with an appetizer with soup, a main course of your choice, and dessert, and also free flow of any drinks that you liked from the menu. Really very worth it... =)
The stuff in front of the drink is the chicken soup, and the other stuff that is beside it (the one that looks like paste) is hummus.. Sorry ah.. I really very "suaku". It was my first time having these arabic cuisine...

Here's all the girls.. I really felt quite out of place, because all of them there knew one another for years.. and even if they have not, they have at least been going out frequently with each other.. and I really felt like crap... but well, to be fair, they were really quite easy to get along with lah..

Here's another "room"... they are quite homely, don't you think?

A very excited Bas with his birthday cake.

The very pretty birthday cake. From Gelare.

Here's the guys with the birthday cake...

Well, more photo taking... with the cake.

More photo taking session.. I really like these photos taken from an angle, while the people are in the midst of taking more photos.. Looks really quite good and candid yah??

Here's while waiting for the guys to cut the cake.. I decided to explore the place. It's quite nice...They had like these different "themed" rooms if you may call them rooms.. and they were all quite homely...

Well, for those of you who are interested, the address of the place. It's really quite nice.. =)

The birthday cake. It was an ice-cream cake from Gelare. Macadamia flavoured ice cream. It was so frozen that it took three guys to cut the cake. In the end, when it was distributed to all of us, the cake was all messy and all, but it still tasted quite good.. Hee hee..

Eating the birthday cake...and having our fair share of birthday photographs...

Bas reading the birthday card that we had to take turns to secretly write for him.. Haha..

Need I say more??

Here's me with Azmi's baby, in my temporary moment of maternal instinctiveness. Haha. Da said that I looked quite "zai" carrying a baby... but I guess it still will not change my mind.. As much as I can avoid it, I guess I will not want to give birth... Ouch. The pain. And the pain in having to bring up the child. Hmm....

Here's all of us, Exhilarated but tired...
