Our birthday celebrations..Yippee!!

Today, on the 24th August, I felt really loved... =) My dear colleagues had organized a birthday BBQ for the three of us, whose birthday were very close to one another.. Mine, Cynthia and Yvonne...

It was decided that the BBQ be held at Georgina's place. Before we had the dinner, we had a good game of tennis at the courts over there as well...

Here's Cynthia happily preparing the food... At around 7, Er started setting up the fire. I must say she is really good! =)
Hee hee.. Yen Ru and Kelly preparing the food.
More food. The salad you see was prepared by Georgina. It's really nice.. The container at the side with the yellow stuff is mango slices. What happens is you put the salad into a separate container, and then toss it with the salad dressing, and add the mango slices.. YummY! =)
The food was really hassle free. All of us had no time to marinate the food, and so Cynthia gave the sugestion that we ordered from this online shop that caters for BBQ. Not bad. The food tasted good too.
Enjoying the fruits of our labour.
Kelly refused to be shot.. =)Said that she looked bad with her "vampire" hair. Haha.

After that, Kelly and I went to soak our feet by the pool...cool! =)
Then, Georgina took cakes down for us. They were really pretty, and one only looked more sinful that the other... *slurp*
There were 6. One for each of us birthday girls (i guess) and the other three to be "shared". The one at the top left corner was this dark chocolate mousse thingee. Yum. The other one in the top middle is some cream puff thingee. Made up of three cream puffs. The two on top were chocolate cream puffs, while another one below is the creme puff. Wow. Super sinful. Then there's Tiramisu at the bottom left corner, and cheesecake in the lower middle. =) All of them are super super sinful... sheesh... all those sugar, all those calories..
But they were undeniably delicious. Thanks Liang - Jie! =)
The there birthday girls... Happy birthday to all of us! =)

Saying GOodbye is the Hardest Thing to do...

Thursday was the last day in SIngapore for my colleague EVelyn. They went out for lunch, and then to walk around ORchard Road. I had a course, so I did not manage to join them for lunch, but after the course I went to join them at Orchard Road. We went to coffee bean for drinks, and then to chat.

We were all going crazy and laughing at jokes and everything...

More of our crazy antics

Then, suddenly, Eve said that she had to go because she was meeting her mother-in-law. Then she hugged Ning, and Yvonne, and that was when she started weeping silently. WHile Er and I were still in the midst of taking crazy shots, we heard the other side of the table go quiet. We looked over, and there was Eve, sitting there with red-rimmed eyes. Well, that did it. Suddenly, the whole table of us were crying and hugging, and telling Eve to take care of herself... gosh. It's really hard to say goodbye..
I think the people around us must be thinking the whole group of us were suffering from Schizo or something like that, because one moment we were all laughing and all, and the next moment the whole table was so silent, and everyone was crying. Sheesh... Personality disorder...
AFter that, we managed to get someone to take a pfinal parting shot for us. Can see that all our eyes are red.. .I guess the one who feels it the most is Ning. The two of them were the closest in the group... and of course the person it would least affect should be me...but I still feel the ache when it came to saying goodbye... =(

We will miss you, Eve. Waiting for your return!! =)

More of our new house! =)

Ok. SO maybe this blog entry is more about me.. but so what? Haha... I am so egotistical, and it's been a long time since I last had photo shots of myself.. haha. Anyway, last week we went to confirm some measurements and things for our renovations, and then here's more shots.. hee hee..
In the lift...
Here's us, at the bottom of our block... can tell that it's really windy yah?
Some more spectacular views from our house...
Any idea what that building is? I know it looks quite interesting. Set in the middle of nowhere..but I have no idea what it is... Any of you know'??

Da's Old Friend's Birthday Party @ Amirah's Grill...

Last night, da and I went to Amirah's Grill somewhere along Arab Street, to celebrate his friend's birthday. Da has known this friend for more than 10 years now, since his secondary school days.

His name is Basril, and has been a really nice guy and all, even to me... =)

This birthday party was painstakingly planned by his very sweet girlfriend, Mariam (or so i think that is how the name is spelt. Sorry if I got it wrong..=) (SHe even went to the extent of packing those small goodie bags for each of us. You know, the ones like those primary school children get when it's their classmates' birthday? Really bring back memories.. Even the stuff inside were old school stuff! Cool!)

Haha.. It was supposed to be a surprise for Basril, but then what happened in the end was really funny. One of the friends did not know that Bas was not supposed to know about it, and so she went to SMS Bas that she would be late for the dinner...

Haha.. You know what the joke was? No one knew that Bas knew.

We all went through the dinner and the fun with Bas "surprised", and we all only knew that he knew all along when this girl came late at night... haha. What a joke...

See the girl in the blue dress? That's his very sweet girlfriend...

Anyway, this was what da got for him.. two pieces of underwear, one that said "part time lover",
and the other that said "pornstar".. haha.. Hope it fits! =) (Oh. And Da also got him a really nice name card holder...)
Here's our appetizer with the chicken soup and garlic bread. I really liked the garlic bread.
Here's my food... It's some mixed kebab stuff..Starting from the top of the plate, you see baked potato... Next, the ones that look like cubes, are the beef skewers. Really quite tough, the meat.

Following that is the chicken skewer. Nice. I enjoyed this the most...

FInally, some minced lamb stuffie.. I really forgot what it's called. perhaps if any of you know what it's called... you can tell me.

I guess I would give the dish an overall 4 / 5. It's nice lah, the only thing is that the beef was a bit tough.

For those of you who are interested to try this, I would suggest you try the Beef Tenerloin mixed kebab instead. The beef was much nicer..

But I find that there was TOOOOO much meat. Everyone sort of agreed with me actually. Even Da.. haha..
And see how hairy the waiter's hands were? Hee hee.. (totally out of point.. haha. The waiter was actually quite cute, but I was pai seh to take his photo lah.. ha ha)
Other drinks.. The white one was banana milkshake, and the other ones were mint tea... All the drinks quite exquisite one, and not all to our liking, unfortunately.. Let's just say the drinks there are an aquired taste... haha..

Here's my drink.. The first drink, at least. This is the mango drink. Quite nice.. The meal costs $25, and comes with an appetizer with soup, a main course of your choice, and dessert, and also free flow of any drinks that you liked from the menu. Really very worth it... =)

The stuff in front of the drink is the chicken soup, and the other stuff that is beside it (the one that looks like paste) is hummus.. Sorry ah.. I really very "suaku". It was my first time having these arabic cuisine...
Here's all the girls.. I really felt quite out of place, because all of them there knew one another for years.. and even if they have not, they have at least been going out frequently with each other.. and I really felt like crap... but well, to be fair, they were really quite easy to get along with lah..
Here's another "room"... they are quite homely, don't you think?

A very excited Bas with his birthday cake.

The very pretty birthday cake. From Gelare.

Here's the guys with the birthday cake...
Well, more photo taking... with the cake.
More photo taking session.. I really like these photos taken from an angle, while the people are in the midst of taking more photos.. Looks really quite good and candid yah??

Here's while waiting for the guys to cut the cake.. I decided to explore the place. It's quite nice...They had like these different "themed" rooms if you may call them rooms.. and they were all quite homely...
Well, for those of you who are interested, the address of the place. It's really quite nice.. =)
The birthday cake. It was an ice-cream cake from Gelare. Macadamia flavoured ice cream. It was so frozen that it took three guys to cut the cake. In the end, when it was distributed to all of us, the cake was all messy and all, but it still tasted quite good.. Hee hee..
Eating the birthday cake...and having our fair share of birthday photographs...

Bas reading the birthday card that we had to take turns to secretly write for him.. Haha.. Need I say more??
Here's me with Azmi's baby, in my temporary moment of maternal instinctiveness. Haha. Da said that I looked quite "zai" carrying a baby... but I guess it still will not change my mind.. As much as I can avoid it, I guess I will not want to give birth... Ouch. The pain. And the pain in having to bring up the child. Hmm....

Here's all of us, Exhilarated but tired...
