Sigh...

Ok..I know I have not blogged for like the longest time... but trust me.. I seriously am busy for these few months..non stop...
Here's what I have been busy with..Oh and by the way, in case you ppl dunno, or in case you are ineterested to know, I just got registered on the 28th of August 2007. In case you think the date is familiar, it IS MY BIRTHDAY as well..haha.. will put up the photos soon.. there are hundreds of them...and have to wait for them to be loaded..no time now... seriously...

1. Wedding Preparations

Come to think of it, I have not really done much yet, save getting the guest list ready, buying stuff for the wedding favours...There are loads of things more to do for the wedding.. mundane things such as collecting and writing the wedding invitation cards, sending them out, confirming guests attending the wedding, blah blah blah... well, the list is never ending. I really must thank my hubby for being such a meticulous man that most of the time, I don't need to remember anything. He is like a walking alarm and organizer...hee hee... (but if you know what i mean, sometimes it can be quite nerve-wrecking as well..)

2. Buying things for the house..

Whoever said in the magazines that shopping for stuff for the house can be one of the most saisfying thing in the world has obviously never shopped with friends for clothes, shoes and bags before.. sheesh.. it is seriously tiring. These few weeks have been a series of endless trips to Ikea and the various lightings shops to buy, see, browse...and buy more, see more, and browse more.. Well, I guess what I said was not the whole truth. I guess it CAN be fun if you were married to Bill Gates... if you get my drift...

Deciding on which lamps to buy while at the same time taking into consideration that we have a tight budget.. is really a pain in the arse..you know what i mean.. sigh.. and it's just sums of money out and out and out, without really knowing where it goes.. SSSS>......IIIII....GGGGG.....HHHHH...

SO far, we have spent about....i guess 30K? Including renovations, refrigerator, washing machine, sinks, stove, taps, lights, printers, blah blah blah...i really dunno...this is scary. And when the house renovations come at the same time as a wedding banquet to prepare, take it from me that it is seriously beyong comprehension of anyone else. They may tell you that Yah, I know what you mean. Trust me. They don't. =(

3. Looking for our Honeymoon Vacation...

Well, this one was also not as fun as I imagined it to be...Because of the fact that we have a tight budget, we really can't go to any of the exotic places that I had wanted to in the first place. All talkof Europe and what not has gone down the drain. We just went two weekends ago to see, and have decided that we wanted the trip to Gold Coast... then after that, heard from my colleague that it is a great place to shop, I guess taht was what made my feel that it was not such a bad choice aferall... haa ha..

Apart from all these, not to mention that the exams are also coming soon, and we teachers have to start preparing the comments for the report book, start collecting their records of who was leader before, when , blah blah blah...

Also, I have got to go for my workouts regularly...

At the end of each day, when I fall back and sleep, I ask myself if I have accomplished anything. And I think the answer is "no". I may have busied myself the whole day doing things, but I feel that nothing much has been accomplished for myself... sad.. I wonder why..what can I do to change things, so that I start living for MYSELF?

Amore Women's Day Out 2007

Last Saturday, I went for the Amore Women's Day Out (WDO) 2007. I thought I could make it. Signed up for the 5 hour workout marathon...

well, I am proud to say, I did it! Although I must say that at the last hour, I began to see stars, and my legs were so jellified that I could hardly walk.. And not to mention the fact that I was nauseous after that... Well, also that there were some people around who could not decipher left from right (like as if that was the hardest thing on earth, you needed a degree to work it all out...) and I ended up stepping on some of them... haha.

The place was really very very crowded. You know the open space outside Taka? Can you imagine more than a thousand people stading in there working out? Wah.. Luckily I was there very early, and managed to get a good spot in the front row.. Haha.. It was not that bad...

Here's me and one of my friends from Amore, Kim.

Felicia Chin was one of the "guests" to speak. She was really stick thin. So envious of her legs..
Also, some of the deejays from 100.3 FM and 91.3 FM.
The WDO lasted for two days. On the second day, there was an on-going dance competition, as well as some dance workout sessions. I went down again to support my friend who was one of the instructors.. =)
The way they dance was really impressive.. sigh.. I wish I could dance like them... =(

New Hair again...

Hee hee..for those of you who have not seen me for quite some time... here's another update. I have new hair again... SInce the curls (which were nong nong ago), I have re-bonded my hair again. This time, I did the soft re-bond. Which, according to the hair stylist, meant that the straightening looks more natural, and not as "flat" as re-bonding. Which I guess was what I wanted..

What do you all think? I couldn't do anything really drastic to my hair, because I will be getting married soon. After the wedding, you should be able to see me in really short hair.. I have had enough of this.. haa haa..

Some pretty nice shots taken in the car on the way to mama house for dinner... Hee hee..Narcissist in action...

I thought this one was quite nice. The scene outside wasa blur. I like!. Quite artistic.. =)

Hee hee..
I think I do quite a good job at being cute, don't you think?? (Ha haa... hope you have not had your breakfast / lunch/ dinner)...
Ok. I think da looks cuter than me... Bleah.. =P

In fact, come to think of it, this face makes hm look like my notorious boy from last year, Keefe.. haha..

Teachers' Day 2007

Well, here's the time of the year again. Last year this time, I wrote about how I really thought I deserved the rest on this day of the year because of all the hard work that we have put in. This year, the feeling couldn't be stronger. This year, my status was no longer that of a BT, or a Beginning teacher. It's time we were thrown into the real world of teaching, where nothing prevents the elements of the world to hit us. Truth is, I much enjoy the fact that we are no longer under such scrutiny from the rest of the peopl around us, but I sort of miss the hand-holding that were given to us in the one year when we were BTs...

However, I really, really am glad that I have a bunch of really great colleagues to work with. They have really been there for me along the way, and have really helped me in every way possible. Life without them would have been hell. Seriously.

On the 30th August, the School Advisory COmmittee bought dinner for all of us at Jappy Joy restaurant (In Bukit Merah). Granted, it's not exactly the most glamorous place to be seen having a school staff dinner, but her, it's the company that matters isn't it?

And that much is indeed true. The dinner was really only so-so. But the company, and the jokes that were surrounding our table made it one of the greatest dinner of all.. =) I am blessed..

Here's our gang.. in the top row, from the left, Cynthia, Ning and Myself. In the front, Kelly, Yvonne and Yen Ru.
Haha.. trying more crazy shots... I dunno how come the lighting came out like this...
Throughout the whole dinner, we kept having fun trying to sing all the karaoke songs in mandarin (if they were in English) and English (if they were in mandarin). Haha. Seriously. You would not have thought teachers to be capable of such pure crap.
Just imagine the song 'Take me home, country Road". Imagine it sung in Mandarin. Can you? Nope! Well, We did! Or at least, Yen Ru did. Haha. We laughed so hard, we all teared.. haha. Incredible...

A really sweet gesture by one of my kid's mum...She called me on my mobile two days before to confirm that I would be in school. She bought a really huge cake for all of us to enjoy on that day. Well, ok. Maybe it was my girl's favourite flavour: Vanilla cake. But I guess it's just fair.. haha. Of course if the mum wanted to buy a cake, it would be in her daughter's favourite flavour..

Well, one of my most naughty girl, Tyra, even bought party hats for the whole class, which was really sweet. They wanted to celebrate my birthday together with teachers' day. IT was really very sweet of them...

CLearing the cobwebs...

Yeah, I know...my ardent fans (namely da, mummy, kelvin and Shuxian), have been complaining that my blog has been in a state of stagnation for a while now...and I figure it's about time.... well, just that so much have been happening these few weeks...hardly have any time to do anything... =)

As things are, I am still waiting for the photos from my ROM ceremony to be ready.
The ones that I have taken on my camera are not exactly the best ones, if you know what I mean. My cousin is the "official" photographer, and I am still waiting for him to get the photos ready for me, so that I can blog them up. =)

For now, here are some photos from the 23 August, when Da and I went to the ROM to get the statutory declaration done. That's where you have to go and "confirm" that you are indeed getting married to this person out of your own free will (like as if you could have a gun pointed at your head and coerced into marriage...)

It is also when you go and collect the marriage cert for the ceremony day... =)
